Look forward to an abundance of attractions and extraordinary locations. The Bavarian foothills of the Alps to the south of Munich has a large number of chapels, churches and monasteries. There are also numerous towns and villages with a historic centre. Many of the attractions date back to the Middle Ages or Roman times.
Munich
Munich is Bavaria’s capital city and offers numerous impressive attractions as well as a diverse range of cultural activities including its famous Oktoberfest.
Neuschwanstein
Neuschwanstein near Füssen in the Allgäu is probably the best-known and perhaps the most beautiful castle in the whole world. You can walk there from the hotel in just over an hour.
Bad Tölz
Just like many Upper Bavarian towns, Bad Tölz is famous for its beautiful and traditional architecture. Its historic centre is characterized by Baroque and Late Medieval houses.
Fairytale Forest
The attractions and rides in the Wolfratshausen amusement park are a fantastic experience for the whole family and only 10 minutes away.
Raft trip
Raft trips on the Isar leave from Wolfratshausen. With up to 55 people per raft, enjoy food, drink and music as you travel through the Pupplinger Au floodplains past Georgenstein to the Munich district of Thalkirchen.
Viking village of Flake
The Viking village of Flake on the Walchensee is a remnant of the film shoot for “Vicky the Viking” by Bully Herbig and is now a museum.

Mountain climbing
Mountain climbing takes visitors to a unique world high above the valley. Famous routes such as the one up to the Herzogstand or the climb up to the Benediktenwand are just 30 minutes away to the south.
Walking
You will discover wonderful meadows and forests as you walk along the idyllic waterways of the Isar and Loisach. The well-maintained hiking trails mean that you can discover wonderful paths in all directions.
Cycling
Take a tour on the Isar cycle path and the “Via Bavarica Tyrolensis” or discover the beautiful town of Wolfratshausen on two wheels.
Winter sports
Skiing, snowboarding and cross-country skiing are popular sports in the region. You can reach some of the smaller ski areas in just 30 minutes. Professionals head for Garmisch and the Zugspitze (45 minutes away).
Golfing
You will find three golf courses close by to our hotel where you can practice your swing while on holiday. Book a round and enjoy the wonderful scenery.
Ride a motorbike
The passes and valley roads in the Northern Alps provide some of the best locations for motorbike tours in the whole of Europe. You will be rewarded with excellent roads that are well-signposted and uniquely wonderful views.

Lake Starnberg
Lake Starnberg is one of the most beautiful lakes in the Alpine foothills, captivating visitors with its wonderful panorama with the Alps in the background.
Isar
Go on a long hike, walk along the wonderful floodplains of the Isar or enjoy an entertaining raft trip.
Kochelsee
The Kochelsee at the foot of the Herzogstand is an especially idyllic lake surrounded by the peaks of the nearby Alps. The lake looks especially peaceful and romantic early in the morning or on calm winter days.
Walchensee
At almost 200 metres deep, the Kochelsee’s neighbouring lake is one of Germany’s deepest and largest Alpine lakes. Its blue-green water makes the Walchensee simply unforgettable.
Benediktbeurer Moos
The natural diversity of the plants and animals on the Benediktbeurer Moos moor casts a spell over its visitors. You have the option of taking the 4.5 km or just over 10 km circular route.
Pupplinger Au
The Pupplinger Au conservation area starts just to the east of Wolfratshausen. The woodland offers impressive pine forests and benefits from the wetlands near the estuaries of the Isar and Loisach.
